Meet Stroker Serpentine On The Second Girls Night Out
I'm so thrilled to announce that Stroker Serpentine, owner of Stroker's Toyz store and Eros island, will be chatting with us about his adventures in Second Life on the next Girls Night Out with iVillage on January 4th.
Like every GNO event, we will meet at the iVillage Loft on Sheep Island and, with the help of Cory Edo our Tour Guide, teleport to Eros Island. Cory is very excited to lead the discussion with Stroker, "Stroker Serpentine has made the human need for sexual intimacy his own Second Life empire. But beyond having a ubiquitous presence in the ever-popular sex enhancement industry in Second Life through his shop, Stroker's Toyz, and the mini-continent of Eros, Stroker is also a highly educated and erudite conversationalist and a social, civic-minded resident."
The sex industry is one of the most prosperous avenues of business within Second Life as it is particularly appealing for those eager to explore the idea of sexuality as expression and power. In real life, sexuality can be inhibited, whereas in the virtual world there is greater freedom to explore gender identification and role reversal, etc. On January 4th Stroker will discuss his business, explain why he chose this industry in Second Life and share stories from his experience running one of the most famous sex-oriented businesses in Second Life. Needless to say, it is going to be a fun-filled, informative Girls Night Out with iVillage!
Jot it down in your calendars girls, January 4th, 6 pm SL time or 9 pm ET.
I can't wait to see you there!

I was so excited to stumble upon this blog. I am a regular on many I village blogs, but this one is new to me.
Second Life is an amazing game, but certainly isn't for everyone. I think trying to "learn the ropes" sends many people packing, but perserverance can pay off.
Second Life has changed many peoples Real Lives. There are people who have quit their day jobs and make a living in SL. It has changed my life in a totally different way.
About nine months ago I met my boyfriend while dancing in a club in SL. He lives in Europe, I live in the US, so we have a major long distance relationship going. (I frequent the LDR board at Ivillage as well). He has visited me twice for five weeks each visit and I visited him for three weeks this summer. My son and I are in the beginning stages of planning a spring break trip to visit him.
In SL my boyfriend and I bought land and built a house, a place where we CAN be together, if only virtually. We have wonderful friends in SL and there is an endless assortment of things to see and do in world.
I will try very hard to come to one of your Girl's Nights Out.
I read Celebrity Trollop's post about your first GNO and it reminded me that I too played SL way back when it was in Beta testing. It has changed SO much, it is unbelievable. Looking forward to seeing you in game!
I've found out about iVillage Girls Night Out from a friend who was at the first one. I would really like to take a part in the next event. However I'm in Europe and 6p.m. SL is way too late for me.
Perhaps you could sometimes organize Girls Night Out at ealier hour (say 2 - 3 p.m. SL) so not only girls from North America could take a part in the event?
I have the same comment as Kate - it's so difficult if you're in Europe to take part in so many of Sl events. I'm so crossed I missed this one. Please would you consider an earlier event? Thanks!
